Power-sector engineers for electrical and solar work
BD Electrical Services was founded by Md. Jahangir Hossain after 36 years in the national power sector, at BPDB, DESA and DPDC.
Our story
We do electrical contracting for utilities, industry and buildings: substations, HT/LT panels, wiring, prepaid meters and automation. The firm was registered with RJSC in 2019.
We work for public and private clients across Bangladesh. Besides new installations, our team troubleshoots, maintains, upgrades and modifies generators, transformers, HT switchgear (VCB/LBS), LT switchgear (MCCB/ACB), PFI panels, ATS, UPS and IPS systems, and instrumentation.
Our commitment is to deliver every project with high quality, on schedule and within the client's budget, to a high standard of health, safety and environmental care. Our qualified engineers and technicians stand behind that work.
In 2026 we added rooftop solar, built by the same engineering team.

Md. Jahangir Hossain
Chairman
B.Sc. Engineering (Mechanical), BUET, 1977. 36 years in the national power sector: BSFIC, BPDB (1978–1991), DESA (1991–2008, up to Superintending Engineer) and DPDC (2008–2013) — Deputy General Manager, System Protection & Services, then Chief Engineer, System Operation & SCADA, responsible for DPDC's network from 132 kV downwards. Awarded a letter of honour by the DPDC Managing Director for distribution transformer repair work.

Founder Md. Jahangir Hossain (B.Sc. Eng., BUET) serves BPDB, DESA and DPDC, retiring as Chief Engineer, System Operation & SCADA, DPDC.
2018
Prepaid meter work begins
Customization and installation for Palli Bidyut Samiti, Gazipur (with Western Engineering).
2019
Firm registered with RJSC
Registration P-43538/2019. Smart prepaid meter work for Gazipur and Dhaka PBS.
2021
Software support for BPDB prepaid metering
Support contract with the BPDB Directorate of Pre-paid Metering.
2022
Electrical Contractor Licence Class A·B·C
Hilton Dhaka substation and electrical works (with Energypac); 33/11 kV control building wiring, Cumilla zone.
2023
New sub-contracts and building wiring
Sub-contract with Shenzhen Star Instrument; wiring at The White Pearl, Uttara.
2024
Smart metering in Sylhet
DCU and CT installation for BPDB smart metering.
2025
25 substation control buildings wired
Electrical wiring for WZPDCL / BPDB, completed on schedule.
2026
Rooftop solar launched
