Solar
Understand solar in two minutes
See how the energy flows, which system fits your building, and what the government rules mean for you.
How solar works
Follow the energy
Scroll through the five steps. The diagram lights up the part that is working.
1
Sunlight hits the panels
Solar cells turn sunlight into direct current (DC) electricity. More sun, more power.
2
The inverter converts it
Your building uses alternating current (AC). The inverter converts DC to AC and manages the system.
3
Your building uses it first
Fans, lights, pumps and machines run on solar power first, so you buy less from the grid.
4
Extra power is stored or sold
A battery stores the extra (hybrid, off-grid), or it goes to the grid and earns credit (on-grid, hybrid).
5
At night or on cloudy days
The battery and the grid fill the gap automatically. You do not need to switch anything.
System types
Which system is right for you?
The difference is simple: does it have a battery, and is it connected to the grid?
On-grid
Connected to the grid, no battery. Lowest cost per unit; can earn from net metering. Switches off in a power cut for safety.
Hybrid
Grid plus battery. Saves on the bill by day and keeps key loads running during load-shedding.
Off-grid
Panels and battery only. Fully independent; battery size decides how long it runs.
Benefits
Why people switch to solar
Lower electricity bill
Daytime power comes from your own roof.
Power in load-shedding
With a battery, key loads keep running.
Earn from extra power
Net metering pays for power you export.
Long life
Panels are built to last for decades; warranty years are shown per package.
Less generator use
Lower diesel cost, less noise and smoke.
Cleaner energy
Every unit from the sun is a unit not burned.
Government support
The rules are on your side
Bangladesh is actively pushing rooftop solar. Here is what the official rules say, in plain words.
Rules checked on30 September 2026
- 2025
Net Metering Guideline 2025
- Solar up to 100% of your sanctioned load (was 70%)
- Single-phase customers can now join
- Prepaid and smart meters are allowed
- Payment for exported power to your bank or mobile banking account
- Online application
- 21 Dec 2025
Power Division circular
- Rooftop solar is required for many new commercial and industrial connections of 10 kW or more
- Homes under 10 kW can join by choice
- 2026
National Rooftop Solar Programme
- The government's plan and targets to grow rooftop solar across the country
The utility makes the final decision on every application. We help you understand the process; we do not promise approval.
What you get
A complete system, not just panels
Every installation is designed, built and tested as one system, with the safety parts that keep it running for years.
- Site survey: roof, shade and wiring check
- System design sized to your usage
- Solar panels and inverter
- Mounting structure for your roof
- DC and AC wiring with breakers
- Earthing and surge protection
- Installation, testing and handover
- After-sales support
